Just like adults, children crave love and attention. The only difference is that they do not know how to ‘ask’ for it or express what they need exactly. But as adults, it is our responsibility to understand the kids and address their concerns. Research suggests that kids who are listened to and dealt with compassion, and quality attention grow into responsible and spiritual human beings. We at Enlightened Kids of the Future, Inc., a non-profit organization focusing on providing children with spiritual knowledge, skills, and daily practices to nurture kids with spiritual nurturing. We are on a mission to educate and teach children to find their enlightenment through seven (7) universal laws. Our strategy is to visit foster-care facilities, kids' hospitals, and after-school facilities around the state of Florida, spending two to three (or more) hours a day for 28-30 days working with young residents at each location. In this 28-30 day program, we educate the children about Self (Spirit within us), Universal laws (For instance law of pure potentiality, law of karma, law of Dharma to name a few). Our program is based on Deepak Chopra’s Book ‘Seven Spiritual Laws of Success for Parents’. Through learning each of the seven (7) Universal laws, we show, discuss, practice games relating to each law, meditate, and write gratitude exercises on a daily basis with them to develop new habits and states of being. These exercises are centered on teaching practices that will help them create their own destiny, regardless of the circumstances in which they may find themselves. Our discussion sessions after each daily lesson and dinner time help them to process and apply these lessons in their daily life. We educate them about these values which are required to live a successful and compassionate life. We believe that knowledge of the universal and spiritual laws is extremely important in life for any (small and big) human beings.
We are on a unique mission of helping children understand how the universe operates towards humans and what our feelings are telling us. Children often face insecurity and uncertainty in many different circumstances, which causes them anxiety, fear, and a lack of assurance in the present moment. Usually, when children feel hardship in their lives, they tend to think they have been or are being punished by God, and that is why they get what they get. We educate them that in spirituality, situations come into your life so that you can ‘learn’ and grow from them. Our mission is, therefore, to make the children positive and give them the strength to accept and appreciate the situations in their lives. We uplift them from these depressing situations of life by giving them tools in our 30-day training program. The teaching methodology that we use to teach the children is innovative and engagement-oriented.
We are all human beings, whether adults or kids, who behave according to our habits and perceptions about the world that have developed in us over time. Our program aims to rewire the brains of children in order to make them think positively, appreciate what they already have, and co-create their future.
Philosophy Behind Our Mission
We believe that God is watching over everyone and is always there to help. Children, when they experience 'hard times' in their lives, may feel that they are being 'punished' by God, leading to the question echoing in their minds, "Why me?". We believe that everything that happens to us is intended for us to learn from and to become stronger and more passionate. This belief guides the philosophy of our organization. Children face various challenges throughout their lives. Some lose their parents at a very young age, some experience their parents' separation, and others have to cope with physical or mental disabilities - reasons we cannot always explain. However, we strive to instill in these young minds the understanding that these are not punishments from God but opportunities for personal growth and inner strength. To strengthen their minds and open their hearts to themselves and others, we educate them about various universal laws adopted from Deepak Chopra's book. Our philosophy is based on the idea that everything we encounter in life is meant to 'teach' us something, and we should seize the opportunity to learn how to let go, forgive, or appreciate what we already have. The philosophy behind our program focuses on fostering a positive approach to life and understanding its deeper meaning. We train children to trust the Universe so they can comprehend that everything that happens to us has a purpose and meaning. Once they grasp this concept, they can walk with greater strength and be better prepared to face life's challenges.
How Do We Achieve This Mission?
Our core mission of the program is to integrate Universal laws to the children. We target the children from kids’ hospitals, after-school, and foster homes facilities to educate them about the spiritual laws which they can use as a tool to work with any depressive periods in their life. We work in groups and emphasize that our core philosophy is that everything happens for a reason. We have also come into this world because of some reason and everything that happens to us also has some reason. Most importantly, we help them understand that they should not look at these situations as ‘punishments’ but rather as ‘learning opportunities’. By giving them the wisdom taught by spiritual leaders such as Deepak Chopra, we teach them to think positively about the ‘bad’ or ‘unpleasant’ situations in life. Through our discussions, we also make them aware of the importance of values such as love, compassion, empathy, self-awareness, and self-love. By telling them interesting stories, we make them curious about knowing more about spirituality and God’s role in their lives. We do this by employing innovative ways of teaching such as examples of personal experiences and group discussions. In our 28-30 day program, we teach the children about the 7 spiritual laws of success and spiritual knowledge. We give them practical tools and knowledge for managing stress, removing personal obstacles, hate, fears for creating their paths of peace, love, or joy. We teach them how each day signifies something and how that value is important in our life. For instance, Saturday is the ‘Day of Dharma’ where they learn about why you are with your soul and body here on this earth and with a purpose in life. By learning this, they realize their desires and talents and have something to look and focus on. Also, this exercise helps them to be alert and live in the present moment to the fullest. Such innovative exercises are therefore used to educate them about life’s values and to make them aware that they are blessed and there is so much to see and experience fun in this life, which develops a trust that they are needed, and they are here for a reason regardless of the situations they may find themselves in. We try to achieve a strong connection with the children. This, of course, happens over a period of time and sometimes is not instant.
Once the children embark on this spiritual education journey and start understanding the presence of God in their lives, they become more secure, happy, and guided. We are on this mission to make them feel secure and heard. We hope that our mission will spread even broader and reach many other hearts and minds like ours, and people will join hands with us.
